How to Host a French Bistro Baby Shower Brunch

A FRENCH INSIPRED BABY SHOWER

It’s already been two years since we threw our French Bistro inspired Baby shower for our little girl.  Even before I new I was pregnant or having a girl I already had in mind that I wanted a Paris inspired baby shower.  So I began my baby shower Pinterest page and started pinning ideas and inspiration for what I envisioned.  Once I sat down and shared with my husband my ideas, pictures, and vision we began prepping. Since my husband has experience as a chef and is great at execution I left all the food prep up to him.  I took on all the other parts and projects of the shower logistics that needed to be done, all though I was very pregnant and taking care of my then two year old toddler during the planning process.

Our baby shower was during the day-time poolside and in sunny South Florida so the weather ended up being perfect.  We wanted our guest to be able to socialize and move freely through out the space so we created a French inspired food buffet, coffee/tea/mimosa beverage area and desserts station.  This allowed for guest arriving late or leaving early to still enjoy the food and drinks while the games were going on without feeling like they weren’t included or sitting around hungry.

Even with a theme in mind to be honest a lot of my inspiration came from Pinterest.  I like being involved and I love a great DIY project, so I created the signs you see in the photos out of burlap and painted on different French “sayings” that helped create the French Bistro look.  For the food station we utilized white linens and green foliage to create a French inspired table scape.   I also picked up the raw edge serving platters at our local Homegoods for added texture to the table scape.  Baskets with large cloth white napkins held a variety handmade croissant sandwiches.  As I mentioned my husband was in charge of the food which we purchased from Costco and FoodDepot.  Most of the charcuterie platters and croissant sandwiches were made that morning.

I really liked the naked cakes designed that had been floating around.  However we went with a Publix Chantilly cake with layers of fresh fruit.  We also picked up some of the assorted Trader Joe’s macarons to add to the French Inspiration.

I wanted the tables to have clean crips look so we used all white linens and a variety of mason jars we had at home and wrapped them with twine to give it a rustic finish.

We even had one of friends dress the part.
