Polka Dots :: The Most Versatile Print you will Own.

Hi, my friends,

It’s been busy around here this May. It’s Mother’s Day today. ( I know why am I working). Well because the kids are with grandma. So naturally, I’m gonna make the most of my time, such a MOM thing to do right! Let me tell you it’s been a productive day inside and outside the house, regardless of how busy, it’s been the perfect day. My husband got me some PJ’s something I love (I think he read my last blog post) and some great handmade gifts from the kids.  I didn’t care for a fussy brunch or lunch just relaxing around the house doing things mom does best!  I made my own crepes and enjoyed them quietly.

So, moms, I want to wish you all a HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!

I hope that you spent your day exactly how you would like it. Doing the things that make you the happiest. Because remember moms we deserve this day to celebrate ourselves.

Now let’s talk about polka dots! It’s another one of those prints that I love to keep in regular rotation in my wardrobe. I found this polka dot top with bow detail on the back from forever21 years ago. It has been a staple in my wardrobe ever since. This print is so versatile, ladies! More than your basic tee, this polka dot top can be dressed up or down. Paired with heels & jacket with can go from day to night very easily.  There are so many outfit combos that you can create, keep reading to see two of recent pairings.

Here I styled it two ways during my regular day as a stay-at-home mom for school drop off, shopping, lunch and everything in between, then after school pick up. This polka dot top takes me throughout my day making me feel put together but yet so comfortable because of the soft tee shirt material.

In the outfit above I was attending the scholastic book fair at my son’s school with him and had some other errands to run during the daytime. Keeping true to my mom style I paired the polka dot top with light wash jeans, white flats, and my Kate Spade cross body. I wanted to elevate the basic combo a little more so I injected a pop of color with my favorite mustard tassel earrings. It immediately made me feel amazing and stylish!

In the outfit below I was headed out with my daughter for a day running errands picking up those last minute items I needed for her party. I am all about finding great pieces for a steal I found these mustard yellow paper bag waist pants for only $7, now that’s a steal!  I loved both the color and ruffle waist detail that I couldn’t wait to wear them. I already knew that the color worked well with polka dots and knew the two would look great together.  I wanted to share with you a more dressed up daytime look.  Keeping with the circle pattern I brought along my a new day circle bag from Target and black mules for chasing after my toddler. My hair needed to be washed, therefore that is why I am rocking the classic MOM bun.

Getting dressed up just a little helps me as a stay at home mom feel good about myself at home and while out with my kids.  I aim to bring you simple affordable outfit ideas that you can inspire you to create outfits that get you through the day too.  I hope that you enjoyed these two polka dot outfit combos and you are now convinced you need polka dots in your wardrobe too!
