Now that many South Florida restaurants are back open for business. We have been lucky to have a few nights recently for a date night. None of which were planned or celebrations of any kind, just needed to eat. After a busy Saturday filled with yard work one weekend and real estate studying the next. That by the time dinner rolled around we were both to tired to cook dinner.
So while the kids were away at their grandparents for the rest of the night. We were able to choose dining options that are a little less kid friend locally. One weekend we tried Andy’s Live Fire Grill and the next Kaizen because I wanted sushi. Here’s what we ate at my Fort Lauderdale date night picks.
Andy’s Live Fire Grill
At Andy’s Live Fire Grill we had both the burrata salad and smoked humus & chips. I have been craving the burrata salad since and am tempting to recreate at home soon.
I had the flame grilled lambs chops that were perfect!
Kaizen Sushi
This past weekend we (I) wanted sushi so I made reservations at Kaizen following their establishments COVID guidelines. We wore our mask when moving through open spaces and removed when seated. This particular Saturday night seemed busy so expect to be there for awhile. You won’t mind either the sushi is some of the best I’ve had in town. They are located in very small shopping plaza so please be prepared for limited parking. However, these tiny drawbacks would never deter me from dining at Kaizen again. merely because the quality of the seafood as well as the care that in put into every dish is expectional.
I tried Uni (Sea Urchin) for the first time. It tasted a little like the cod liver oil capsules I use to take as a kid. The after taste did not linger long on my taste buds making the whole experience pleasurable.
I will say that Kaizen was a pricey date night dinner however we did have the best Toro and Uni I have ever tasted. If you love extraordinary sushi then I recommend you head on over to Kaizen.
