This was the first year that we attended the South Florida Fair in West Palm Beach. One of the oldest and largest fairs here in South Florida since 1912, held in January every year. As an avid fair goers we couldn’t wait for the rides, games, exhibits and of course all the fair food. The South Florida Fair has a theme every year and we we’re excited this years theme was Super Heroes, so was our little Spidey!
Yesteryear Village
Yesteryear village is a historic village replica of what life was like for our fellow Floridians dating back to 1895. Take a walk through time and experience life in the old blacksmiths building, school-house, along with the food. We had to stop for these donuts that were just to good to say NO too!
If you need to take break from the heat then stop by one of the Piggy races and bet on your favorite little pig, you just might get lucky:
THE FAIR
Now the part of the Fair that we all love, rides! We mainly stayed in the kiddies area so that both of the kids could ride the rides and play fair games. First up Daytona 500 car racing he might look calm in the photo below but there were tons of sequels coming from him as the race car zoomed by.
As a kid I loved playing fair games so it is no surprise that this little guy wanted to stop and try his luck at literally every game. We couldn’t pass up this classic fishing game, he even won a prize!
We even attempted a family merry-go-round ride however Neve did not want to stay on her horse. So I need up standing with her in my arms. would’ve chosen a seat to sit with her but our little girls insisted on riding that horse.
One of my all time FAVORITE fair foods is elephant ears. So clearly, I couldn’t leave without getting myself one. It was chilly that day so we order some warm coffees to go with my elephant ear but there was something floating around in our cups. This sweet lady not only gave us two fresh cups of coffee she also gave us, my elephant ears on the house! THANK YOU!!
The South Florida Fair was lots of fun and with lots to do and see that we did not cover it all. As w e were leaving we quickly walked through the exhibits and were amazing at the talent. We cannot wait to go back next year and see more of what we missed.
Thank you for reading and stayed tuned for our next family adventure. Looks like the kite festival is coming to town.
