This past weekend, my daughter and I stepped into a world of glamour, games, and glossy lips at the YSL Love Game Pop-Up in the heart of the Miami Design District — and let me tell you, it was a vibe.
As a local Caribbean mom blogger over 40, I’ve been manifesting a collaboration with YSL Beauty for some time now. Though I’m an avid beauty lover, I had never actually tried their products — until now. So when this pop-up appeared on my radar, I knew it was time to experience the world of YSL for myself — with my 8-year-old beauty bestie, Neve, right by my side.
First Stop: The Love Game Photo Booth
We started our experience at the YSL Love Game photobooth, where the line was already buzzing. Guests were snapping adorable pics next to displays of the new Loveshine Lip Oils and Blushes — the stars of the event.
While we waited (manifesting a VIP pass!), YSL team members passed around branded waters and sweet pastel “Love Game” heart candies — such a fun touch that made the Miami heat feel a little more luxe.
Game On: Inside the YSL Love Game Installation
Once we made it past the velvet rope, the YSL magic came alive. The theme was games, and they went all in. From a cute memory game, to oversized Love Game checkers and tic-tac-toe, everything was interactive, high-glam, and surprisingly playful.
Then came one of our favorite parts — the heart-shaped Lip Oil Wheel. We each received a coin to drop into the golden slot and got a full-size lip oil to keep. I received Shade No. 1 — Thunder Stealer, a bold glossy pink. Neve was thrilled to get Shade No. 3 — Mellow Mellow, a soft and sweet nude that she now calls her “fancy gloss.”
Tunnel of Gloss: Beauty Playtime with YSL
The YSL Beauty Tunnel led us into a glowing space where we could swatch and sample the new Loveshine Blushes and Lip Oils. The installations were jaw-dropping — modern, romantic, and totally Instagrammable.
Though the pace was quick, I got to test out a few textures and was impressed by the creamy, glowy finishes. And the best part? A sit-down session with Billie, a YSL makeup artist who made me feel like a true VIP. She applied the Loveshine Lip Plumper, and yep — that tingle-burn was real, but totally satisfying. My lips felt full, juicy, and selfie-ready.
The Take-Home Glow: YSL Goodies We Loved
As we wrapped up, we were gifted the cutest heart-shaped vanity case, perfect for storing all our new YSL faves. Inside?

Let me just say… I’m absolutely obsessed with this fragrance. It’s floral, but bold — the kind of scent that turns heads. YSL, if you’re listening: this would make a fabulous Mother’s Day gift. Just sayin’.
Final Thoughts
But First, Representation… While I had a blast at the pop-up, I later learned that YSL hosted an exclusive “Love Beauty Club” party the night before for influencers and celebs. Unfortunately, no local Miami influencers — especially from Caribbean or diverse backgrounds — were invited to preview the installation ahead of the general public.
As a creator who proudly represents beauty over 40 and the Caribbean community in Florida, it felt like a missed opportunity. There’s so much talent and culture right here in Miami — and I’d love to see brands like YSL include us more intentionally in moments like these.
This event was more than just a day of beauty — it was a reminder of why I love what I do. It reignited my passion for trying new things, connecting with my daughter through play and glam, and dreaming bigger for what’s next.
So YSL… the gloss has been applied. The heart candy has been eaten. And this Caribbean mom blogger is ready when you are.
