Linen Striped Midi Skirt + Casual White Tee

Hi friends,

Who else enjoyed the long weekend?  Today I was greeted by a warm welcome from the hubby who announced he MISSED me after spending the last three days playfully harassing me.  On the most Mondayest Tuesday ever I spent the day doing basic mom things laundry, drop off, self-care, yoga, lunch, naps, bath time …. and the list goes on.  It felt really great to hear him say how much he missed me.  As a stay at home mom, it can get really lonely with the kids at home all day.  Especially when your partner and you are conquering the world apart from each other.  It wasn’t always like this there were some afternoons when we’d be so exhausted and tired from parenting that remembering to acknowledge each became an afterthought.  Which negatively affected us as a couple at times causing us to fight over silly stuff.  This parenting journey is tough, to say the least.  But I am so grateful to have a partner who understands it is challenging and that I need to be pulled out of my mom cloud at the end of the day.

Now let us talk about this outfit!

This is one of those outfits when you put it on it makes you just feel fabulous!   It has been a few years since I have styled a midi a skirt but when I saw this one online I fell in love.  I knew the stripes and linen fabric would be perfect for summertime.  This midi skirt is so lightweight and comfy, even belly-friendly if you are pregnant.  I remember not being able to find styles I like while pregnant that I didn’t end up purchasing many maternity clothes I wore what owned or sized up in regular clothing styles.  Give it a try momma if you are pregnant, you can still wear it after the baby arrives. What  I really like about the midi skirt is how it flows when you move the slit detail adds a fun flirty element.  It is also very easy to transition from a casual daytime look to and dressier evening look, paired with a crop top and strappy heels.

I wore this lined midi skirt over the weekend for coffee at a Roses Coffee Bar here in Fort Lauderdale.  It flows so wonderfully and pairs so easily with a variety of tops making it a really versatile wardrobe piece even for a petite mom like myself.  I was afraid that the linen would crease after sitting for long periods, however, I did not have that issue with this midi skirt.  I am sure that it will travel well even when tucked away in your suitcase. (Packing tip: instead of folding it I would recommend rolling it to avoid wrinkles)
