One of this summer’s major trends is paper bag waist shorts. I’m a big fan of this highwaisted style of short and own a few myself. There is something about this paper bag style of high waisted short that cinches in your waist that is flattering on all body types. It makes an outfit look chic while still being comfy and casual. I’ve worn this style a few different ways and with so many stylish options to choose from, from denim, patterns, leather, and linen, you are sure to find a pair or two that you’ll love.

On a recent family summer getaway I wore this stylish summer trend with this polka dot paper bag waisted short and dotted blush cami combo. And I really loved how this outfit came together. When I originally packed both pieces I didn’t even envision wearing them together. But on our way to breakfast I quickly put them together and viola!
As I mentioned by styling this trend with a more fitted top you eliminate this added bulk. This fluttery camisole was light weight was great for tucking in these paper bag waist shorts. I also like the adjustable straps and ruffle detail. Ruffles are one style detail I like to utilize when concealing me underarm area. The tiny subtle blush dots are also another fun take on polka dots. However, it wasn’t until my husband pointed out to me that I noticed the polka dot theme. Then I was like, oh yea, there is a subtle polka dot on the blush top that play off the polka dots on the shorts.
Sticking with the polka dot theme I added this colorful circle straw bag, that I found at Walmart. The white flats make this the perfect causal daytime outfit. For a day out with the family.
