Our visit to Disney Springs was hosted, as always all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Dining out with kids can be a daunting task, especially when you have a full schedule of activities. While traveling as much as we enjoy the restaurants at the hotels. We look for nearby kid-friendly restaurants or cafes.
On our last trip to Disney Springs, we were happy to learn that there were tons of kid-friendly places to eat. We could easily spend a few days eating our way through Disney Springs. Which we have done in the past pre-kids. This time around we were able to introduce our two and five years old to a variety of flavors and cuisines just minutes away from our hotel. There are a variety of restaurants located at Disney springs —— offering healthy, tasty, and unique eats for everyone.
On this trip, we tried to combine some activities with our meals. One thing that we really had fun doing as a family was bowling at Splitsville. Bowling is always a fun activity with kids young and old. Although Neve may have been too young to bowl she still enjoys cheering her big brother on.
Splitsville Luxury Lanes is a bowling alley and restaurant that is excellent for an off-day from Disney World. If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, a visit to Splitsville Disney Springs for an afternoon of bowling fun and good eats is perfect if you not visiting the parks! This time last year our family was vacation right next door at the Wyndham Lake Beuna Vista Resort. On a rainy afternoon, we took the kids over to Splitsville for some bowling and to try out their new Fall menu items.
Splitsville located in Disney Springs Orlando is the home of 30 amazing lanes and 5 lively indoor and outdoor bars. Plus, they feature a billiards area including flat-screen televisions, live music, and an array of kid-friendly menu items for refueling right at your lane!
We were dining during Fall so there was a new Autumn menu that all Disney Springs Restaurants were participating in. We tried the autumn-inspired apple crisp pizza that the kids loved. You can’t go wrong with fries especially when they are loaded with bacon, cheese, ranch, and scallions. Save room for dessert though, they offer a variety of sweet items to choose from. Mom Tip the kids are able to order an ICEE with blue Rasberry, coke, or cherry flavors. This was a hit with the kids because they were both given complimentary Splitsville bowling Pin shape drink containers. We were also informed of the Coca – Cola Freestyle machines offered over 100 different flavors and free refills with drink purchase.
We enjoyed bowling away the rainy afternoon at Splitsville. I like that even though this is a luxury bowling alley, it is still kid-friendly but offers evening entertainment great for date night.
Lucky for us our Resort was only a short walk away from Disney Springs. We were able to go back to our room for a quick nap before dinner. If you are staying in the Disney Springs Resort Area there is various transportation options available to resort guest to and from Disney Springs.
I don’t know about you but whenever I am on vacation all I can think about is when is my next meal. I seem to always be hungry! That is why I was excited about dinner that evening. After our nap we felt refreshed and ready for dinner at Planet Hollywood located inside the four story observatory. Each time we walked past during the day both kids begged to go in. So when they found out they were having dinner inside of the observatory. They couldn’t stop smiling. Like I said I was excited about the Big Bite Burgers and signature sandwiches by Celebrity Chef Guy Fieri. Of course the kids and dad were obssesed with the immersive video wall with state-of-the-art sound and media featuring music videos. We sang and dance along to our favorite songs all night long. When you arrive don’t forget to get your photo taken by age hostess out front.
Our evening couldn’t get any better after a night at Planet Hollywood but Disney Springs always has tons of late night entertainment for everyone of all ages. The kids danced off dessert on our walk back to our resort. Rian even won a dance off pin for lasting the longest. This is one of the reasons our family loves staying at the Lake Buena Vista Resort that is located right next door to Disney Springs, read more about why it our favorite, here.
On our last morning in the Disney Springs Resort area we took the kids over to House of Blues for Sunday Brunch. Although the kids might’ve preferred staying at the hotel on our last morning. Once they got to House of Blues and heard the music and entertainment they had a blast. This was my first time at House of Blues Sunday Gospel Brunch so I had no clue what to expect. I was truly impressed by the energy and how we felt like we having a big family meal. It was my birthday so I got to participate in some of that morning birthday activities. Which was a pleasure since I don’t really ever celebrate myself.
Overall Sunday Gospel Brunch at House of Blues was such a fun experience. It is not the best activity for kid between the ages of 2 and 4. I only say this because although my kids had great time due to the seating arrangement and loud music it may not be ideal for some parents with young children. If you do have older children House of Blues is great option for Sunday Brunch in Disney Springs.
If you are traveling to Disney Springs in the upcoming months keep in mind many COVID-19 restrictions are still in place. Please read click here to get the latest information about dining and shopping at Disney Springs.
Although we will not be traveling due to COVID-19 for my birthday this year. If you will be traveling safely I highly recommend your family stay at the Lake Buena Vista resort located next door to Disney Springs. You will not be disappointed. They have recently renovated their guest rooms as well as their main hotel rooms. We had the pleasure of being one of the first to stay in the newly renovated rooms.
